"When our planet will be in danger no other creature will come down to save us, but us"!
According to a new Pakistani geological survey 2014-15, More than 5,000 glaciers are retreating to melt faster in pakistan than any other part of the world, alarming many other countries to come up with solutions for sustainability in climate change to save the world.
Since the devastated 2010 floods, Climate Change has become this year's hot topic in Pakistan. The country is listed among the world's most vulnerable to the adverse impacts of climate change due to its diverse topographic and demographic milieu. Pakistan’s glaciers are spread over an area of about 16933 Km². Pakistan is a home of 108 peaks above 6000m. These glaciers are enormous reservoirs of fresh water and their melt water is an important resource which feed rivers in Pakistan. Glacier depletion, especially recent melting can affect agriculture, drinking water supplies, hydro-electric power, and ecological habitats. This can also have a more immediate impact on Pakistan’s economy that depends mainly on water from glacier melt. Melting of seasonal snowfall and permanent glaciers has resulted not only in reduction of water resources but also caused flash floods in many areas of Pakistan. Using satellite data the study of glaciers, has become possible. Comparison of Landsat images of Batura glacier for the year October 1992 and October 2000 has revealed that there is decrease of about 17 km2 in Batura glaciers. Biafo glacier has also retreated. Through this study efforts have been made to analyze future changes in glaciers because, changes cannot be assessed without baseline information on glacier extent.
"The Scientists have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, largely due to humans have been producing carbon dioxide (for example, by running cars on gasoline) faster than plants can absorb it, which makes the Earth warmer—and much faster than has happened naturally in the past. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which includes more than 1,300 scientists from the United States and other countries, forecasts a temperature rise of 2.5 to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century".
The report clarifies that the high heatwave is the biggest threat ever recorded, not only for Pakistan but for the rest of the world.
Many uncountable deaths has been reported in different areas of Pakistan due to the scorching heat weave caused by climate change this year 2015. The NA Standing Committee on Climate Change informed that more than 50% of the population and 22% of the area in Pakistan are at high risk of being affected.
Many energy based organizations like Lead Pakistan -Inspiration Leadership for a Sustainable World; is leaving its footprints behind towards sustainability in Pakistan by addressing the consequences and solutions to cope with climate change, leading the alliances together to address the nation about the effects of greenhouse gases on nature.
However, to fight against this environmental disaster, countries need to think beyond the borders to prevail sustainable and resilient solutions, and Pakistan should also get lined up with the intervention and framework by United Nations to be addressed at the end of this year in a global meeting this November!
Green Solutions against hot weather:
Switching to Renewable Energy is the great way we are going to prevent catastrophic Climate Change.
Sadly! we are not doing this fast enough.
But over the last 10 years, the costs of renewable energies have dropped dramatically, and they’re now expanding faster than anyone ever thought. In fact, Renewable energy targets are now in place in 164 countries, and this is powering a renewable energy revolution where over 135 GW of renewable energy was added to the global mix just last year. That an 8.5% growth rate not even China’s economy can compete with. Many countries including Pakistan has introduced Renewable Policies, as a result the world's economy is growing faster than ever.
However the question arise, What an Individual should do in this movement?

Individuality matters the most here at this stage of threat for the human race. We Argue! We criticize! We Judge! We expect from the state to take measures to ensure the '17 Goals of sustainability'. We want the government's actors to improvise their roles. But, What if the government will be failed to intercept from this 'High Alert' warnings by the nature? What if the states could not put its 100% efforts towards climate change?
Therefore, In this crucial time, the civilian should also step forward to save the world by planting at least one tree in their neighborhood to keep the environment green and healthy. It is a small step towards maintaining this unusual temperature to get its normal condition.
Plantation and prevention from carbon dioxide is the most cheapest solution, Specially for the developing countries which can not afford to integrate high energy based technology to their systems. See the benefits of plantation which can bring positive impact on environmental sustainability and protection from hazardous industrial gases. See the benefits of plantation in your surrounding, here: http://www2.bgky.org/tree/benefits.php.
Also to prevent from the global warming, an immediate action should be taken against the timber mafia, denuding the murree forests and in the other northern areas of Pakistan. Digging deeper into the conundrum, I found that there is a direct link between deforestation in Pakistan and the massive floods sweeping the country. The war against such criminals should be taken and northern people are heartily requested to cooperate with the government and fight against the timber mafia. This is how we can protect our mother nature and save our country. When the civilians of all the countries will become united, We can heal the captured ozone layer and the wilted nature.
This November will be bringing all the global leaders together to negotiate over the aftermath of climate change in one of the more high profile conferences of the world (COP21) to be hosted by France in this year 2015. Let the political giants know the power of a common man! Let them know, what a common man can do to fight against every challenge and threat to the world more dangerous than any "Kim jong un" !
