FATHERHOOD

Her father had a heart attack this morning; he was taken to the nearby hospital. She was sitting in her room. One thought was continually hitting her, she never told her father that how much she loves him, how much he means to her & what is his importance in her life. Before this accident Syra was quite distant from her father, there was always a communication gap between them. She was not good at talking and showing her feelings to others. She was self centered and reserved. She couldn’t find the reason for being distant from her father. Indeed he was extremely loving, caring and polite too. She still remembered that day when she use to come back home to meet her parents and there was always a warm welcome for her. She smiled while thinking about her father’s expression. His white face with white beard and pinkish cheeks that always turned red on seeing her. This usually happens when you extremely love someone and you are dying to see that person and when you see that person you cannot control your excitement. Similarly, once she had an accident and hit her head, when her father came to see her, his face was pale with worrying wrinkles on his forehead. She had never seen him extremely worried before. She thought at that time that how can someone love you so much and unconditionally? How could you mean so much to someone? She then remembered her mother saying that you cannot imagine how it’s like to be a parent until you become one. She opened the window of her room and took a deep breath. She was thinking that father is a more protective, caring, and supporting personality in every family who work really hard to secure their future. He guides in every matter and helps to take decisions. He is always there for his family no matter what. She could never imagine a life without him. She was just continuously praying for her father. Next day a phone call calmed her down. She went to meet him and she kissed on his forehead, a tear rolled down his eyes. She didn’t have to say anything then because everything was being said.
